1. Spelling/grammar errors. It's like they just attack my poor OCD eyes. If you're a native English speaker, it shouldn't be that hard to remember the difference between their, there, and they're.
2. The people in the Wilk handing out fliers. All. the. time.
3. Being told I'm too young to do something.
4. When drivers block the crosswalk and I'm trying to get across the street.
5. Tardiness.
6. Freshmen complaining about how busy they are when they're taking 12 credits and have no job.
7. Those obnoxious people who have to be "first." You know what I'm talking about. No matter what you're talking about, they heard/watched/read it first, and that somehow makes them an expert.
8. When people say that they don't "believe" in evolution or other scientific theories.
9. People who go to the library only to sleep or socialize and make it impossible to find a place to sit and study.
10. Cyclists who think they are immune to any and all traffic laws.
11. When people have strong, unassailable beliefs that they can't explain. It bothers me most in politics. If you are a die-hard Romney supporter, that's fine, but you'd better have some good reasons.
12. Being told that happiness is a choice and that being unhappy is only a result of sin. I hear this all too often in church.
13. When someone finds out that I speak Chinese, and they ask me to "say something in Chinese!" What on earth do you want me to say? Or they ask for something ridiculous/specific/untranslatable, like "unicorns" or their name. I've been studying the language for a little over 2 years, I'm not an expert.
14. People who show up to class in gym shorts or sweats on a daily basis. We're in college now, show a little respect for the institution and the professor.
15. On a related note, when girls wear sweats and a t-shirt, yet have perfect hair and full on makeup. If you're taking that much time, at least put on a pair of real pants, please.
16. When girls think that they can't be seen in public without makeup.
17. Ignorance.
18. Being cancelled on last minute. I have my schedule planned out at least 2 weeks in advance. You had better keep a commitment, because I probably had to rearrange my plans to fit you in.
19. Gossip. It just creates a bad environment when you're talking smack about someone behind their back.
20. Insincerity. Mean what you say, and say what you mean.
I'm gonna stop there. Wow, these make me sound really critical and judgmental... I promise, I'm not as harsh as these make me seem. They're just things that typically bug me a bit. I'm not going to flip out because you fall asleep in the library sometimes (I'm guilty of that too), it's just something I take notice of. Oh well. I'm trying to be honest here, right?
Something I've realized is that I myself am guilty of many of my own pet peeves at times. It's much harder to see it in yourself though.
