I think this one's pretty obvious: totes looking forward to going to 中国 (That's China, if you couldn't tell)。I get to spend an entire semester absorbing a culture that's entirely different. There's a huge difference between studying something and actually experiencing it. And although I feel
theoretically prepared to go, I'm still expecting a huge culture shock when I get there. I'm trying not to imagine specifics, because I don't want to be disappointed that China doesn't live up to my expectations.
I'm looking forward to my first time leaving the country. I'm excited to experience new things and get out of my comfort zone. And I am definitely looking forward to being able to speak Chinese all the time. Right now it feels like I'm not improving as much as I ought to be, and I think being immersed in it all the time will help me get out of this rut.
So, readers/lurkers, what are you looking forward to?
