Light

In every darkness, there can be found a light, however far away or faint. In fact, we can only appreciate light by experiencing darkness.

It's hard to think this way when it's dark and you can't find the way out.

But even in the depths of the blackest despair, there is hope. There are various ways to find that hope, instead of laying down in abject surrender to sadness.

Sometimes, it's music.

Sometimes, it's writing.

Sometimes, it's a friend.

For me, most often it is the scriptures and sincere prayer. I know that there is a God, and I know that he loves me. I never have to be alone. Never. All I have to do is ask. God is more powerful than anything in my life, and through his power I can bear any trial and become a better person because of it. He won't necessarily take away hard things, but he will strengthen me so that I can do what I need to do.
