Today marks the fifth day that I am not allowed chocolate, caffeine, aspirin, vitamins, or anything else that makes life worthwhile. Luckily, it's only 10 more days until my surgery, and then I can presumably eat whatever I want.
Surgery's going to be fun. They're going to make small incisions in my ribcage, slide a curved titanium bar into the chest cavity, flip it so that it aligns with my rib curvature, and then (if my chest is elastic enough) pop my sternum into a less heart-crushing position. And then they'll screw the bar in and sew me up, leaving everything for a couple years.
I will be very much unconscious for this procedure, a fact for which I am very grateful.
I'm also (tangentially) very grateful for my family and my boyfriend, without whom I would be very lonely indeed.
And that's it.
Okaybye.
Woa, like...take care of yourself and good luck with it all ;) The next 10 days will be god awful without those life necessities, but well worth it, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteI hope your surgery goes well and smoothly my friend.
